Baghdad: The Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir al-Shammari, has confirmed that stringent measures have been put in place to address any attacks on state personnel. He expressed his condolences to the families of Brigadier General Hisham Muhammad Tala’ and Officer Khalid Abbas Lafteh, who were killed in the line of duty during an incident in al-Dora.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell issued a press release detailing that Lieutenant General al-Shammari, along with several security commanders, attended the mourning tents for the two martyrs. Brigadier General Tala’, the Director of the al-Amana Police Department in Karkh district, and Officer Lafteh were both martyred while upholding national law and maintaining order in the southern part of Baghdad.

The press release further explained that al-Shammari conveyed the condolences and sympathies of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister to the bereaved families. He praised the martyrs’ bravery and their significant contributions to protecting state personnel and executing official duties to uphold the rule of law.

Al-Shammari emphasized that these tragic attacks would only bolster the resolve and determination of security forces and service institutions to track down those who threaten the nation’s security. He reassured that “strict directives have been issued to strike with an iron fist against anyone who targets state personnel.”

In response, the families of the martyrs expressed their gratitude for the visit by the General Command of the Armed Forces. They emphasized their pride in the sacrifice and bravery displayed by their sons in the pursuit of Iraq’s security.
