Ahmed Salah Sets Sights on Asian Cup Qualification for Iraq’s Youth Team


Chonburi: Iraq’s youth national team coach, Ahmed Salah, has declared the team’s primary aim to qualify for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup, expressing respect for the capabilities of all teams in Group F.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Salah highlighted the significance of the upcoming qualifiers during a press conference before the start of the Group F matches in Chonburi, Thailand. He acknowledged that all teams, including Turkmenistan, the UAE, and hosts Thailand, possess the potential to secure a spot in the finals.



Salah revealed that the Iraqi team underwent an overseas training camp to gear up for the competition, with players demonstrating strong determination to succeed. He emphasized the necessity for focus and dedication in each match due to the closely matched skill levels of the participating teams.



As the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers for Group F commence tomorrow, Iraq is set to face tough competition from its fellow group members in Thailand.
