Baghdad: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities announced today the completion of its preparations for the much-anticipated 27th Baghdad International Book Fair. The event is set to open tomorrow under the patronage of Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi, featuring participation from 28 Arab and foreign countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Cultural Affairs, Fadhil al-Badrani, confirmed that technical, organizational, and logistical preparations have been completed. This year’s fair will see one of the widest participations to date, with 17 Arab countries and 11 foreign countries, including the United States, France, Germany, the Netherlands, China, Turkey, and Iran.

The fair will host a diverse cultural and artistic program comprising seminars, sessions, evenings, mornings, and events. Leading publishing houses, institutions, research centers, and cultural figures from within and outside Iraq will participate in these activities.

Running from September 2nd to 12th, 2026, the fair aims to support books and knowledge, reinforcing Baghdad’s position as a hub for cultural and intellectual activity.
