US Central Command Confirms Strikes on Iranian Targets

Washington: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that the US military conducted new strikes on targets within Iran. The move comes as a direct response to recent incidents involving the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which reportedly targeted commercial shipping activities in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the strikes have resulted in a series of explosions reported by Iranian media. Specifically, Iranian television has reported hearing five explosions in the village of Masan on Qeshm Island, as well as four explosions in the Strait of Hormuz. These developments highlight the escalating tensions in the region, particularly concerning the security of vital maritime routes.

Further reports by the Fars News Agency have indicated that explosions were also heard in the southeastern Iranian cities of Konarak and Chabahar, located in the Sistan and Baluchestan province. These incidents underscore the broader regional impact of the ongoing conflict and the potential implications for regional stability.
