Baghdad: The second age group championship and the third women’s padel championship, organized by the Iraqi Padel Federation, concluded at the Al-Jadriya courts in Baghdad. The tournaments experienced wide participation of players from different regions of Iraq, highlighting the growing interest in the sport.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the championships featured two main categories: the under-14 age group and the women’s competition. The age group championship saw 16 players competing fiercely in the under-14 category. Meanwhile, the women’s championship had 24 participants showcasing their skills and dedication.
The competition results in the under-14 category showed Hassan Ali and Ali Amir securing first place, with Mohammed Firas and Mohammed Haitham landing in second. Hussam Khairi and Youssef Osama finished in third, while Hussein Alaa came in fourth.
In the women’s championship, the duo of Zalal Saeed and Sara Afdal emerged victorious, claiming the first position. Banin Ahmed and Riyam Ahmed were the runners-up, followed by Lara Afdal and Niruj Saeed in third place. The fourth position was taken by Fatima Qasim and Kafouk Shaaban.
