Judge Zidan and Atlantic Council Discuss Judiciary’s Efforts in Iraq


Baghdad: The President of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Judge Faiq Zidan, held discussions with Victoria Taylor, the director of the Iraq Initiative within the Middle East Program at the Atlantic Council, regarding the judiciary’s ongoing efforts to establish the rule of law and fight corruption.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council revealed in a press release that Judge Faiq Zidan welcomed Victoria Taylor to discuss the current judicial efforts. The meeting focused on the strategies and actions taken by the judiciary to uphold the rule of law and address issues of corruption within the country.



The discussion emphasized the importance of consolidating legal frameworks and ensuring transparency in governmental processes. Both parties shared insights on the initiatives being implemented and the challenges faced in the pursuit of a more robust legal system.
