Baghdad: The 27th Baghdad International Book Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, featured a variety of artistic and research events on its third day, attracting artists, academics, and researchers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the cultural program included an art seminar titled “Draw It Your Way,” led by visual artist Saif Nabil. The seminar explored the state of visual art in Iraq, the evolution of painting across various artistic schools, the fundamentals of successful artistic work, and the role of art in reflecting society, cultural identity, and heritage.

In addition, the Mosul Center for Strategic and Future Studies hosted a seminar titled “The Role of Research Centers in Policymaking and Leading Development,” moderated by Ahmed Al-Hilou. The event featured participants such as Ashraf Al-Dahhan, Director General of the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers; Dr. Alaa Hamid, Director of the Rawak Center for Public Policy; and Ahmed Abdul Karim, Head of the Mosul Center for Studies.

The symposium highlighted the importance of research centers and think tanks in aiding decision-makers, addressing crises, promoting development, and fostering collaboration with government entities. It concluded with the introduction of the “Baghdad Declaration for Research Partnership,” aimed at supporting public policies and enhancing partnerships between research centers and decision-makers, with plans to present it to the Prime Minister.
