Basra: Al-Minaa Club coach, Captain Hussein Abdul Wahid, emphasized the importance of his team’s match against Al-Naft, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, noting his team’s readiness for the encounter despite the strength and stability of their opponent, both technically and administratively.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the pre-match press conference, Abdul Wahid stated that tomorrow’s match is crucial against a respectable and technically and administratively stable team, but this does not diminish their readiness for the challenge, indicating his great confidence in the team. He added that playing the match at Al-Minaa Olympic Stadium provides his team with a significant advantage, along with the unlimited fan support, which he described as the team’s number one asset.

The Al-Minaa coach affirmed that the coaching staff and players possess the ambition to achieve a positive result and bring joy to the club’s fans. Al-Minaa will face Al-Naft tomorrow, Saturday, at Al-Minaa Olympic Stadium, in an important match within the Iraqi Stars League. They currently have seven points, accumulated from a goalless draw against Al-Zawraa, a 2-1 victory over Zakho, and a resounding 3-0 win against Al-Gharraf.

Al-Minaa fans are hoping the team will overcome its financial crisis, which has cast a shadow over its preparations and led to several players boycotting training. Coach Hussein Abdul Wahid has also threatened to resign if the situation persists. The head of the club’s interim administrative committee, Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, had promised to resolve the financial crisis this week.
