Iraq Reaffirms Commitment to Cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation


Baghdad: Congratulating the new Secretary-General, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms Iraq’s commitment to continuing cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has affirmed Iraq’s commitment to ongoing collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). In a recent statement, the Ministry extended its sincere congratulations to Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his election as Secretary-General of the OIC, expressing wishes for his success in this new role.



The Ministry’s statement emphasized Iraq’s support for the OIC, recognizing its significant role in strengthening joint Islamic action. The statement also conveyed Iraq’s confidence in the new Secretary-General’s ability to contribute to the organization’s progress, enhance its performance, and consolidate solidarity and cooperation among member states. This cooperation is deemed vital for addressing common challenges and defending the causes of the Islamic nation.



Further, the Ministry underscored Iraq’s dedication to maintaining cooperation and coordination with the OIC General Secretariat and member states. This commitment aligns with the organization’s goals and principles, aiming to promote security, stability, and development while serving the common interests of the peoples of Islamic countries.
