Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has announced its rejection of an Iranian offer to participate in collecting fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Western media outlets reported that Muscat refused to agree to impose fees, even voluntarily, in exchange for environmental and security services. This decision stands in contrast to a statement issued last week by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The situation is further complicated by remarks from President Trump, who has twice threatened to take military action against Oman if it agrees to impose actual fees on the waterway. These developments highlight the geopolitical tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passage.
