Erdogan Engages in Talks with UAE President to Ease US-Iran Tensions


Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and regional and international issues in a phone call with his Emirati counterpart, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, this conversation was highlighted in a statement published by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications on its “InSocial” platform account. During the call, President Erdogan affirmed that cooperation between Turkey and the UAE will continue to expand in several areas, most notably in defense industries and the economy.



President Erdogan emphasized that work is ongoing to develop joint relations and that Turkey is actively making efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as other similar conflicts in the region. He stressed the continuation of peace-based diplomatic initiatives and underscored Turkey’s complete rejection of attacks targeting “brotherly countries” in the region. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of cooperation between Turkey and the UAE on various regional issues.
