Basra: The Basra Operations Commander, Major General Atheer Hamza Jassim, has ordered security forces to raise their readiness to the highest levels in an effort to bolster security measures in the region. This directive includes intensifying intelligence and proactive efforts, actively pursuing wanted individuals and outlaws, and eliminating the spread of uncontrolled weapons.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Jassim emphasized the importance of confronting any attempts to threaten the security of citizens or impose unauthorized will, asserting that no violator will be granted immunity. He underscored that there will be no leniency in executing duties and that the law will be enforced indiscriminately to ensure public safety.

In a recent field visit to the 3rd Regiment/Commando Brigade of the Basra Operations Command, Major General Jassim met with Major General Ali Al-Mashari, the Director of North Basra Police, to evaluate the current security situation. During the visit, they reviewed the operational readiness and efficiency of the units, aiming to enhance coordination and integration among the security forces.

Major General Jassim also engaged with tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from North Basra, reinforcing the role of tribes as vital partners in maintaining social peace. He declared that the security and stability of Basra are non-negotiable, and the authority of the state is supreme. Any attempts to destabilize the province will be met with decisive action to protect its citizens and ensure ongoing peace.
