Baghdad: The Media and Communications Commission has announced the extension of its closure procedures for Korek Telecom’s offices to include the governorates of Kirkuk, Nineveh, and Salah al-Din. This decision follows the commission’s ongoing efforts to enforce regulatory measures against the company.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the commission has coordinated with the National Security Service to conduct field visits to the mentioned governorates, which have resulted in the closure of Korek’s headquarters and operational centers. These actions are a continuation of visits previously carried out in Baghdad, Karbala, Najaf, Diwaniyah, Babylon, and other regions, aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory decisions concerning Korek Telecom.

The commission specified that in Kirkuk Governorate, closures encompassed the company’s offices in the Almas, Al-Jumhuriya Street, and Al-Muhafaza Street areas. Meanwhile, in Nineveh Governorate, the closures affected several locations across Mosul, including Al-Nour, Al-Majmu’a Al-Thaqafiya, and Sumer neighborhoods on the left bank, and New Mosul and Al-Dawasa on the right bank. Additionally, similar procedures were implemented in Salah al-Din Governorate.

The commission reiterated that these field monitoring operations are conducted in collaboration with security agencies and relevant authorities, following approved legal and regulatory frameworks. The commission’s teams and offices in various governorates will continue to monitor the execution of these procedures, ensuring consistent application of regulatory decisions across all Korek Telecom sites and centers.
