Hilla: Dozens of brick factory owners and workers in the Shomali district, south of Hilla, gathered to demonstrate against the scarcity of fuel oil and the rising prices of fuel and production costs. The protestors expressed concerns over the potential closure of factories and subsequent layoffs of workers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstrators underscored the urgent need for government intervention to ensure the brick production sector’s continued operation. They emphasized that support is crucial not only for their livelihoods but also to aid reconstruction efforts across Iraq. The demonstrators also issued a warning that they might resort to blocking roads if their demands remain unmet, highlighting the severity of their situation.
