Baghdad: The Border Guard Command has officially denied reports suggesting that a group of Syrians managed to cross the security barrier along the Iraqi-Syrian border strip. The denial comes in response to a video circulated on social media, which allegedly showed the crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command issued a statement clarifying that the video titled “A group of Syrians cross the security barrier on the Iraqi-Syrian border strip” contains misleading information. The statement pointed out that the concrete wall visible in the video is part of the fortifications on the Turkish-Syrian border, not the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The Command emphasized that the Iraqi-Syrian border is currently experiencing substantial security stability, maintained by a comprehensive system of fortifications, barriers, technical monitoring, and thermal cameras, supplemented by continuous deployment and patrols.

The statement further urged against using outdated or unrelated videos to mislead the public by falsely attributing them to the Iraqi border. The Command stressed that such actions could mislead public opinion and create unnecessary tension.
