Military Intelligence Arrests Four Suspected Drug Dealers and Promoters in Anbar and Nineveh

Baghdad: The Directorate of Military Intelligence-DMI announced today, Sunday, the arrest of four suspected drug dealers and promoters in Anbar and Nineveh provinces. In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Directorate said that, ‘in accordance with the directives of the Chief of Staff of the Army, General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and under the supervision of the Director of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General Hassan Jawad Al-Silawi, and as part of the efforts carried out by the Directorate’s units across various operational sectors, four suspects accused of drug trafficking and promotion were arrested in Anbar and Nineveh.’

According to Iraqi News Agency, the statement said the arrests were carried out in separate operations by the Intelligence and Security Departments of the 10th and 14th Infantry Divisions, in cooperation with the relevant security agencies, following intensive surveillance based on confirmed intelligence.

The Directorate added that the suspects were found in possession of quantities of narcotic substances and prohibited materials. They are wanted under Articles 28 and 32 of the Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
