Baghdad: The Integrity Commission and the Presidential Office have reaffirmed their collaborative efforts to combat corruption and protect public funds. The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammed Ali al-Lami, emphasized the importance of cooperation among state institutions and society in the fight against corruption. He highlighted that these collective efforts are crucial for oversight bodies to effectively carry out their duties, pursue corruption cases, track illicit proceeds, and recover misappropriated funds.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a meeting with the head of the Presidential Diwan, Yahya Ghazi al-Muhammadi, al-Lami underscored the critical support provided by the three branches of government, especially the executive branch, to oversight bodies. He expressed gratitude for the continued backing from the Presidency of the Republic, which bolsters efforts to combat corruption and safeguard public funds. This support, he noted, strengthens the integrity system while promoting transparency and accountability.

Yahya Ghazi al-Muhammadi commended the Federal Integrity Commission’s efforts, particularly its recent campaigns leading to the prosecution of individuals involved in corruption and those who have unlawfully enriched themselves at the expense of public funds. He expressed optimism that these initiatives would result in eradicating corruption within state institutions and supporting honest employees. He stressed that the commission’s work plays a vital role in creating a secure and conducive environment for reconstruction, investment, and development.
