Diyala: The Parliamentary Finance Committee held a joint meeting today, Thursday, with key officials including the Director General of the State Real Estate Department, Ms. Alia Nizar, the Director General of the Real Estate Registration Department, Ms. Ibtisam Rahim, and the Director General of the Agricultural Lands Department, Ali Hammoud. The focus was on discussing land survey plans and addressing land classification conflicts and agricultural restrictions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting also addressed the Cabinet’s decision to grant one million residential plots to citizens. Discussions centered around ways to address Resolution No. (320), which aims to facilitate the allocation of sufficient areas for the initiative and to change land classifications as necessary.

In the Diyala Governorate, a committee reviewed the challenges related to surveying, expanding, and reclaiming lands. This includes conflicts with the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant departments concerning agricultural lands. The committee noted that efforts are underway in all governorates to survey and prepare lands, form subcommittees, nominate suitable sites, provide necessary services, and identify eligible categories.

The Finance Committee further explored the possibility of resolving overlapping jurisdictions between the municipal, agricultural, and real estate registration departments. An emphasis was placed on expediting land classification change procedures to ensure the allocation of lands in the required areas.
