Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi met on Thursday with Ammar Subhi, Head of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit; Abdul-Hassan Jamal, Head of the National Pension Commission; and Iman Adnan Saad, Deputy Director General of Rafidain Bank. The meeting focused on discussing various operational mechanisms of the company, the nature of services provided, delivery methods of banking services, and compliance with contractual obligations and government regulations.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker raised several inquiries about the company’s operations, including mechanisms for granting banking advances and financing investments, the volume of funding provided, beneficiary sectors and segments, as well as the revenues, profits, and financial returns generated. The inquiries also covered the nature of guarantees between Rafidain Bank, the company, and beneficiary sectors, the contractual and financial obligations, and mechanisms for safeguarding the bank’s rights and protecting public funds.

The discussion also highlighted the sectors benefiting from the financing and banking facilities and the volume of funding allocated to each sector. The Speaker of the House of Representatives emphasized the importance of providing accurate and transparent data and information regarding these files to ensure the integrity of financial and contractual procedures, protect public funds, and deliver the best services to citizens in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
