Baghdad: Iran is rebuilding the “Taleghan 2” facility at the Parchin military complex-a site previously linked to the nuclear weapons program located 30 kilometers southeast of Tehran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the reports indicate that Iran has shrouded the site with large fabric screens to obscure activities from satellite surveillance. Beneath this cover, extensive construction work is progressing, involving the use of dump trucks, bulldozers, concrete pumps, cranes, and the installation of new reinforced blast-proof walls. This marks the third cycle of reconstruction at this location.

Israeli aircraft had initially targeted the original building in October 2024. Following this, Iran reconstructed the facility, introducing a new high-explosive containment vessel beneath a concrete sarcophagus. In March 2026, Israeli aircraft again targeted the site with bunker-busting bombs, resulting in three holes in the chamber and the destruction of the internal structure.

By June 2026, Iran commenced repair work and is now expediting this process under the cover provided by the screens.

The Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) has described the ongoing reconstruction of this high-explosive testing site-linked to the former “Amad” nuclear weapons program-as “deeply concerning.”
