Baghdad: Newspapers published in Baghdad today focused on the Council of Ministers’ decisions to support the oil and healthcare sectors and enhance road safety, alongside political and security developments in Iraq and the region, and efforts to complete the government formation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Council of Ministers has approved several measures aimed at boosting the efficiency of the oil sector and improving healthcare services. Key among these decisions are facilitating operations for oil companies, regulating the export of black oil, and determining the financial share of the state treasury. Additionally, the council has relaxed financial qualification requirements for the importation of medicines and medical supplies, and approved the acquisition of road-marking machines to improve traffic safety.

In the realm of government formation, Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and Ammar al-Hakim, Head of the National Wisdom Movement, have underscored the necessity of unifying positions and visions. Their focus remains on ensuring the government is formed on the principles of competence and integrity, with an emphasis on reform, anti-corruption measures, and developmental progress.

On the political and security front, President Nizar Amedi highlighted the need for promoting citizenship, coexistence, and solidarity among Iraq’s diverse communities to fortify stability. Meanwhile, Nouri al-Maliki reiterated Iraq’s dedication to maintaining balanced international relations and respecting the sovereignty of other nations. He mentioned that investigations into the recent attack on Saudi Arabia are ongoing, with a promise of accountability for those responsible. Additionally, al-Maliki emphasized the critical importance of ensuring all weapons are under state control and resolving security issues through dialogue and mutual understanding.
