Karbala: A tribal conference was held in Karbala, attended by Governor Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, the Director General of Tribal Affairs, and tribal sheikhs from the Middle Euphrates governorates. The event was organized by the governorate’s Tribal Affairs Department under the slogan: “Iraqi Tribes: The Authenticity of Society and the Pillar of the State.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Governor emphasized in his address at the conference that Iraqi tribes represent an integral component of Iraqi society, possessing a historic and active presence throughout the various stages Iraq has traversed.

He highlighted the vital role tribes play in fostering social cohesion, embedding values of cooperation and solidarity, and preserving social peace.

He explained that the relationship between the state and the tribes is founded on complementarity and cooperation, thereby reinforcing the state’s prestige and the rule of law.

He noted that these stances confirm that the Iraqi tribe has been-and remains-a fundamental partner in preserving the social and national fabric and promoting values of moderation, tolerance, and coexistence, all of which contribute to supporting the state and consolidating social stability.
