Iran Awaits Trump’s Response After Conveying Conditions via Qatari Mediator

Tehran: Rezaei confirmed that his country recently tested an anti-ship missile near a US aircraft carrier, indicating a shift in Tehran’s strategy toward Washington after the latter’s withdrawal from a memorandum of understanding. Tehran is now more prepared to counter US air strikes, leveraging its knowledge of US military vulnerabilities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, emphasized Iran’s commitment to the late Supreme Leader’s fatwa, maintaining its nuclear doctrine while acknowledging uncertainty about the future. He mentioned that Tehran has not decided to withdraw from the Non-Proliferation Treaty, contingent on Washington’s actions.

Rezaei highlighted diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, noting that Iran communicated its conditions to Washington through a Qatari mediator, aiming to halt the war. Iran awaits a response from US President Donald Trump. The conditions include ending the war on all fronts, releasing frozen funds, and lifting the naval blockade.

Rezaei also addressed the conflict in Yemen, expressing Iran’s desire to end the war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. He believes that the Yemenis want to reach a settlement with Saudi Arabia, aligning with Tehran’s broader goals for regional peace.
