Baghdad:The Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, has reiterated the Council’s commitment to supporting all religious components in Iraq and safeguarding their rights.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi’s office released a statement detailing a meeting on Tuesday with Rami Joseph Aghajan, the Head of the Endowment of Christian, Yazidi, and Sabean-Mandaean Religions, along with his accompanying delegation. The discussions focused on various topics related to the affairs of religious communities in Iraq and explored ways to support the Endowment, enhancing its role in advocating for these communities’ interests.

The meeting also covered the key challenges facing the Endowment’s work and strategies to address them through coordination with relevant authorities. The Speaker emphasized the Council’s dedication to supporting all religious components in Iraq, acknowledging them as an integral part of the Iraqi people and the nation’s social fabric.
