Baghdad:The Ministry of Oil announced that the gas recovery project at the Nasiriyah and Gharraf fields has achieved a completion rate of 78%.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, Izzat Sabir Ismail, visited the project site in Dhi Qar Governorate. He was accompanied by the Director General of the South Gas Company and other officials, highlighting the project’s significance in enhancing national gas production.
Ismail reported that the project processes 200 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, with 160 MMSCFD supplied to power plants and industrial facilities. It also produces approximately 1,450 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) daily.
He stressed the need to expedite the project’s completion as per the schedule, addressing any challenges that may arise. The Ministry prioritizes gas recovery projects for their role in increasing gas recovery, reducing flaring, and supporting the national energy system.
