Turkey Condemns Houthi Drone Attack on Saudi Power Station


Medina:Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed strong condemnation of the Houthi group’s attack on a power station serving the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling for an immediate and unconditional halt to such “provocative attacks.” The ministry highlighted the threat these actions pose to the sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia, as well as their impact on Islamic values and sanctities.

The statement reiterated Turkey’s support for Saudi Arabia and emphasized the importance of avoiding actions that could escalate tensions in the region.

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen reported that a drone attack by the Houthi group targeted the Medina power distribution station, disabling one of the transformers. However, the electrical grid remained unaffected. Coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Malki stated that the attack occurred early Tuesday morning. Investigations a
nd analysis of the drone debris confirmed the Houthi militia’s involvement in the planning and execution of the attack.
