Accourding to National Iraqi News Agency, the Nineveh Criminal Court sentenced the former official to five years and one month in prison. The conviction was based on evidence that he intentionally harmed the financial interests of the Umm Al-Rabeein Specialized Chess Club while serving as its president.
The Commission revealed that the convicted official improperly managed financial resources tied to a property owned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He entered into a contract without the necessary authority or approval from the Ministry, leading to the misuse of public funds.
