Baghdad:A significant employment fraud network within the Rusafa I Education Directorate has been dismantled, involving 12 employees who were engaged in fraudulent activities.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Federal Commission of Integrity revealed that the network had been operational since November 2025, defrauding citizens by promising employment in exchange for money. The network was also involved in forging employment records and processing salary payments for non-existent employees.
To combat this fraudulent operation, two task forces were established within the Baghdad Investigation Directorate. These teams were deployed to specific neighborhoods in the capital, resulting in the capture of seven suspects. Judicial arrest warrants have been issued for five additional individuals.
The operation was a collaborative effort with law enforcement agencies, including the Falcon Cell, and was conducted in the neighborhoods where the suspects were located. An official seizure record was created, and both the record and the suspects were presented to a judge at the Rusafa Investigation Court, which specializes in integrity, money laundering, and economic crime cases. The judge ordered the detention of the suspects under the provisions of Resolution 160 of 1983, as amended.
