Abu Dhabi:Anbar The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced the seizure of a facility involved in counterfeiting brand names and the arrest of an individual for food product fraud.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Agency’s organized crime division in Anbar Governorate apprehended a suspect operating a clandestine facility that produced and marketed adulterated food products with counterfeit brand names. These activities misled citizens into believing the goods were of international origin.

The operation was initiated following precise intelligence on industrial fraud and commercial counterfeiting within the illicit facility. Authorities obtained judicial authorizations to seize the facility, arresting the owner as he packaged food products in containers with fake brand labels.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to sourcing, packaging, and marketing the products as having international origins, and his statements were judicially ratified.
