Al-Zaidi Launches Major Housing Initiative in Karbala

Karbala:Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi has launched the ‘Watan’ (Homeland) Initiative in Karbala, focusing on distributing one million residential plots across Iraq, with 60,000 plots designated for the province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zaidi emphasized that his visit marked more than just the start of a project; it was a commitment to granting Iraqi citizens the long-awaited right to homeownership. Karbala was selected as the starting point due to its historical role as a center of reform.

The initiative’s next phases will include distribution in Najaf, Nineveh, and other provinces. Al-Zaidi assured the distribution of land title deeds, reiterating his commitment to fulfilling these promises within the government’s term.

The prime minister highlighted the government’s dedication to assisting families without homes to secure land, thereby alleviating rental burdens. The initiative includes providing comprehensive services and construction support to eligible families.

Al-Zaidi clarified that the project would not strain the state budget and expressed gratitude to the Karbala governor and the implementing company for their roles in the initiative.
