Washington:The US Department of Energy has announced the release of 4 million barrels of oil from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this release was approved as an emergency exchange in response to Hurricane Isaiah. The hurricane has impacted production, with approximately 69% of oil production in the Gulf of Mexico and 57% of natural gas production still shut down.
