Baghdad:The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 74 infiltrators of various nationalities at the international borders during the month of September. The ministry highlighted ongoing fortification efforts along the Iraq-Syria-Turkey border triangle, stretching from Rabia towards Fishkhabour.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Miqdad Miri, Head of the Ministry’s Relations and Media Department, stated that the arrests were part of continuous efforts by security forces to maintain firm control over Iraq’s borders and prevent illegal infiltration.
He further mentioned that the Iraqi borders are under constant monitoring and control operations that are highly efficient and ready around the clock. These efforts are supported by the construction of a concrete wall in the northern Rabia area, extending towards Fishkhabour, aimed at enhancing border control and curbing illegal activities.
Miri also emphasized that operations are proceeding according to established security plans, which include field efforts, intelligence gathering, and technical fortifications to strengthen border security and protect Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
