Accra:Defense Minister Nayef Al-Shammari has expressed that his new role is a significant national responsibility, emphasizing his commitment to building a strong army capable of safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shammari stated his dedication to working diligently to enhance Iraq’s military strength. He assured the public of his support for all military personnel, highlighting the importance of cooperation to achieve national security goals.

He also noted ongoing efforts to elevate Iraq’s status in areas such as air defense, the air force, army aviation, and cyber security. Al-Shammari emphasized collaboration with military leaders to prioritize Iraq’s standing and enhance the military institution’s capabilities.

The Council of Representatives recently voted to approve three deputy prime ministers, completing the formation of the ministerial cabinet, which includes newly established ministries.
