National Security Service Dismantles Human Trafficking Networks in Iraq

Baghdad:The National Security Service (NSS) has dismantled two human trafficking networks and prevented the sale of two infants in the regions of Dhi Qar and Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, these successful operations were carried out after the NSS received precise intelligence and conducted field surveillance. With the necessary judicial authorizations in place, NSS units executed two specialized operations that led to the apprehension of suspects involved in these illegal activities.

In Dhi Qar Governorate, the NSS set up an ambush that resulted in the arrest of four suspects who were caught in the act of selling a one-day-old infant. The suspects were apprehended immediately after completing the transaction.

In a separate operation in Baghdad, the NSS arrested a five-member network, which included licensed midwives, as they attempted to sell another one-day-old infant. All individuals involved in these cases have been transferred to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.
