Umm qasr: The Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of a chemical substance intended for smuggling at the northern Umm Qasr port.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a statement, “The Umm Qasr Northern Port Directorate was able to seize two containers at the search and investigation checkpoint outside the customs area containing (a chemical powder) packaged inside barrels intended for smuggling, as they did not contain any security approvals or import permits permitting their import, contrary to what was stated in the completed customs transaction.”

The statement further added, “A seizure report was prepared, and the two containers were referred to the northern Umm Qasr Customs Police Station to take appropriate legal action against the violators.”
