A Large Number of Miners Killed in a Landslide in Mali

Mali: A large number of miners were killed in a landslide in Mali.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, local authorities reported that a landslide led to the death of many gold prospectors in a mine in central western Mali.

The authorities explained that the accident occurred when workers became trapped in a hole filled with muddy water, which caused destruction and flash floods at the site. Although rescue teams rushed to the scene, they were unable to recover any bodies due to the force of the muddy water, which even swallowed a mechanical shovel used at the site.

Authorities emphasized that search operations are ongoing despite the difficult conditions and hazardous environment.
