Basra: A protest was held in Basra Governorate on Sunday evening, with the participation of a group of citizens. Participants called for a boycott of the elections and a stand against the rampant corruption in the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, those who organized the protest explained that the motivations behind this step stemmed from the suffering Iraqis are experiencing due to the lack of basic services and the spread of corruption in the state. They emphasized that the current elections do not represent the aspirations of the people or express their true will.

The protesters raised banners and slogans calling for a boycott of the elections, in a protest message aimed at bringing about real change and ending the state of corruption that is eating away at the body of the state.
