A security expert: Expelling armed groups from the country is a sure guarantee to stop foreign interference

Baghdad The security expert, Safaa Al-Aasam, considered the presence of armed groups opposing some of the neighboring countries as a justification for foreign military interventions.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency that the Turkish military interventions and the threat of them by Iran are clear evidence of Iraq’s inability to deal with the opponents of the two countries residing in the Kurdistan region.

He stressed the need for Iraq to take appropriate steps to protect its borders in various directions and not to allow opponents of Iran, Turkey or any other country to take it as a headquarters to threaten the security of any country.

Turkey has been making direct military intervention in northern Iraq for quite some time to strike at its opponents from the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK), which is based in areas in the north of the country.

Some time ago, Iran launched missile strikes against opposition sites in the governorates of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
