Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas confirmed on Sunday that “the Palestinian Authority is subjected to an unprecedented Israeli financial and economic siege due to the withholding of tax funds, which have reached more than two billion dollars.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Palestinian News Agency – WAFA reported that “President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas has launched a broad international communication campaign with world leaders and international organizations to stop the crime of starvation being inflicted on our people in Gaza.” He warned of “the continued crime of starvation inflicted on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, deliberately imposed by the occupation authorities, which constitutes a war crime for which the Israeli occupation bears responsibility.”

Abbas stressed the need to “stop the genocide against our people in Gaza through killings in front of aid distribution centers and deliberate starvation in order to instill despair in the hearts of the Palestinians and force them to flee.” He noted that the Authority “demanded the world intervene immediately to stop the crime of starvation and to allow food and medical aid to reach our people in Gaza immediately.”
