Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, said that before our election as President of the Republic, I prepared a general program of work that the political forces reviewed.
The President of the Republic said in an article that will be published tomorrow in the semi-official Al-Sabah newspaper affiliated with the Iraqi Media Network: The principles of our program aspire to emphasize our keenness on the basic responsibility formulated by the Constitution.
He explained: Our program paper includes emphasizing the importance of the parliament’s role and supporting constitutional legislation.
The President of the Republic stressed: One of the priorities of our work is to ensure the mobilization of international support to rebuild Iraq.
He continued: Our program included working to have an efficient government.
He stressed: The return of the displaced and the reconstruction of cities were part of our program.
The President of the Republic stressed the need to preserve the independence of the judiciary and prevent political interference.
He affirmed and said that our participation in the Algiers and Sharm El-Sheikh summits has strengthened confidence in the possibility of serious and effective work.
The President of the Republic added: We have sensed feelings that confirm the possibility of pushing Iraq’s regional relations forward, stressing that Iraq has achieved successes in providing an atmosphere of understanding between neighboring countries.
The President of the Republic stressed: We will work on understandings to reach agreements that secure a fair sharing of water with Turkey, Iran and Syria.
Rashid explained that controlling our water security will be a strategic part of our economic and environmental security.
