Cairo: Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has affirmed the League's staunch rejection of Israel's expansionist policy. In his opening remarks at the Arab Summit, Aboul Gheit emphasized the enduring importance of the Palestinian cause, declaring it the primary issue for Arabs. He highlighted the troubling normalization of violence, stating, "The killing of children and civilians in Palestine has become normalized before the world."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Aboul Gheit also addressed other pressing regional concerns. He remarked on the challenging phase Syria is currently undergoing and the major obstacles it faces in building a new Syria. He assured that the Arab League would support the Syrian people in overcoming these difficulties. Additionally, he expressed concern for Lebanon, highlighting its struggle for recovery amid ongoing Zionist aggression.

Aboul Gheit further commented on the precarious situation in Sudan, where the state structure is under threat. He expressed confidence in the resilience of the Sudanese people to rebuild their nation post-conflict. He also noted the persistent division threatening Libya's unity, underscoring the myriad challenges facing the Arab world.
