Abu Dhabi: The Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Nofal Abu Raghif, convened with Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, the Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communications Sector at the Arab League, to discuss the coordination of Arab media efforts in preparation for the 34th Arab Summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Communications and Media Commission released a statement highlighting the significance of unifying the Arab media discourse for this critical event. The statement emphasized that the summit serves as a pivotal moment, showcasing Iraq’s leading role within the Arab system and underscoring Baghdad’s historical and cultural significance. The summit is also seen as a platform for fostering regional dialogue, rapprochement, and development.

The statement further detailed the review of facilities, press and dialogue centers, and technical and logistical arrangements to aid Arab media professionals and outlets. These preparations include granting permits, creating special corridors, and offering field logistical support, all in coordination with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

Respect for national privacy in media coverage was underscored, with both sides agreeing on the importance of a unified media message to bolster Arab solidarity and present a stable image of the region. The discussions also highlighted the need for enhanced institutional cooperation between the Arab League’s media sector and the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission.
