Baghdad: Thabit Mohammed al-Abbasi, head of the National Decisiveness Alliance, recently engaged in discussions with the US Charg© d'Affaires to Iraq, Joshua Harris, focusing on the political and security developments, partnership avenues between Iraq and the United States, and matters of mutual interest.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Abbasi highlighted the importance of Iraq's internal stability, asserting that safeguarding security achievements requires decisive actions. He emphasized the urgency of resolving pending political issues and completing the formation of the government to bolster state institutions and enhance their efficiency.

Al-Abbasi insisted that any international relations or partnerships must be founded on the principle of respecting Iraq's sovereignty and maintaining the independence of its national decision-making process, free from external pressures.

He further elaborated that the present stage demands the utmost wisdom and national responsibility from all parties. Al-Abbasi underscored the importance of national unity, the protection of citizens' security, and the preservation of Iraq's independent decision-making to ensure that Baghdad remains a symbol of sovereignty and a cornerstone of stability.
