Al-Araji and Al-Maliki Discuss Strengthening Democratic Institutions in Iraq


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, to discuss ways to capitalize on the success of the parliamentary elections and strengthen the democratic system in Iraq. The meeting highlighted the importance of political balance and the consolidation of state institutions following the elections.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisor’s media office released a statement detailing the discussions held during the meeting. The statement emphasized the review of the latest political developments on the Iraqi scene and stressed the significance of achieving political balance to consolidate state institutions after the elections.



Additionally, the statement noted that al-Araji and al-Maliki addressed the necessity of maintaining the momentum of security efforts to preserve the security gains achieved and enhance stability throughout the country. Both leaders affirmed the importance of ongoing dialogue and coordination among political forces to ensure the stability of the democratic process and strengthen national security.
