Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji met with the British Ambassador to Baghdad, Irfan Siddiq, to discuss enhancing joint cooperation and the security situation in the region. The meeting focused on strengthening the cooperation and friendship relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom, as well as addressing issues of common interest and the supreme strategic interests of both nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions included the current security situation in the region and the collaborative efforts by Iraq and the United Kingdom to achieve regional stability. Both parties emphasized the importance of de-escalating tensions and finding sustainable solutions that contribute to lasting peace in the region and globally.

Al-Araji highlighted the Iraqi government’s commitment to resolving international crises through dialogue and diplomacy. He expressed support for efforts to cease hostilities in Gaza and to halt the associated humanitarian issues. Furthermore, Al-Araji underscored the importance of direct dialogue and diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States to address ongoing tensions.
