Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qassim Al-Araji discussed with Canadian Ambassador Christopher Beam the security challenges facing the region and the importance of the international community's efforts to establish peace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by Al-Araji's media office indicated that he received the Canadian Ambassador in his office on Thursday. They discussed strengthening the historical relations between Iraq and Canada at all levels. The dialogue also covered the security challenges facing the region and emphasized the significance of global efforts to foster peace and support stability both regionally and globally.

Al-Araji reiterated the Iraqi government's commitment to using diplomacy and balanced policy to bridge differences, overcome challenges, and achieve enhanced security and stability in the region and the world.

The Canadian Ambassador, Christopher Beam, affirmed his country's special focus on Iraq and expressed Canada's intention to sign memoranda of understanding with Iraq across various fields.
