Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji held discussions with the Russian Ambassador to Baghdad, Elbrus Kotrashev, focusing on the enhancement of bilateral relations and exploring avenues for joint cooperation in combating terrorism and sharing information and expertise.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Araji’s media office reported that the meeting took place at Al-Araji’s office, where both officials deliberated on the upcoming visit of the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council to Baghdad, scheduled for the middle of this month. Discussions also covered the latest developments in the region and globally, including the pressing issues of genocide and starvation in Gaza.

The discussions underscored the urgent need to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians, with an emphasis on the international community taking a proactive role and applying pressure to address the situation effectively.
