Al-Araji Convenes with European Union Ambassadors to Discuss Al-Hol Camp Issues


Baghdad: National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji held a significant meeting with the European Union Ambassadors in Baghdad, attended by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Human Rights, Dr. Zidane Khalaf, the Directors General of the Chancellery, and the European Union Ambassador to Baghdad, Thomas Seeler.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the European Union’s assistance to Iraq, particularly concerning the Al-Hol camp. Discussions centered around the withdrawal of nationals from the camp and the repatriation of Iraqi citizens.



Al-Araji emphasized the importance of international community support for the Ministry of Migration and Displacement. This support is crucial for ongoing efforts at Al-Jadaa and Al-Amal centers, which aim to rehabilitate Iraqi citizens. Additionally, there is a need for infrastructure development to accommodate an increasing number of individuals returning from Al-Hol camp.



The meeting followed the Iraqi government’s decision to expedite the return of its citizens from Al-Hol camp, with a focus on their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.
