Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji discussed with Japanese Ambassador Akira Endo the development of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries. The discussion centered on strengthening and developing bilateral relations and the support provided by the Japanese government to the Iraqi government in the fields of consulting, human capacity development, economic development, and the development of trade relations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two sides also reviewed developments in the security situation at the international and regional levels. They discussed the role of the Iraqi government in investing in its relations with friendly countries to avert the specter of war in the region.

The dialogue also included discussions about an upcoming conference in New York in the latter half of September. The conference aims to share the Iraqi experience and encourage countries to withdraw their nationals from Al-Hol camp and address this issue.
