Baghdad: National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji stressed that moderate discourse, acceptance of others, and the presentation of ideas that enhance social cohesion and provide services to citizens are the purposeful discourse that should be the goal of those who wish to represent the people.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Araji made these remarks during the opening of a conference on combating extremist discourse during election campaigns. The event was organized by the National Committee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism and took place in Baghdad, attended by MPs, heads of provincial councils, government officials, security leaders, sheikhs, and tribal leaders. He highlighted Iraq's approach towards a significant national obligation, which is the holding of parliamentary elections.

He added that the Iraqi government has prepared all the necessary requirements for conducting the elections and has completed its preparations. Al-Araji emphasized that electoral campaigning should align with the goals and vision of those who will represent the people, and candidates must avoid inflammatory sectarian rhetoric.

Al-Araji reiterated the importance of ensuring the success of the democratic experience, as it represents a national mission. He underscored the need to honor the children of martyrs from the armed forces in all their branches, including the Counter-Terrorism Service, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the police, the Peshmerga, and all those who have sacrificed for Iraq by providing them with the best possible services. He also stressed the importance of loyalty to all Iraqi people, noting that the electoral process is a manifestation of democracy.
